Having your own suit made to measure is still a popular luxury for visitors to Hong Kong. The territory has some of the legendary tailors of old Shanghai who have passed on their skills to the next generation. The speed and quality of craftsmanship and the range of fabrics here are all excellent. Such personal tailoring is no longer a massive bargain, but still worthwhile. A few places can product your suit within 24 hours, but you won't usually see the best-quality results. Expect your tailor to take about a week if you want a high-quality garment. There are a lot of tailors in Tsim Sha Tsui and a few in Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. The Shanghai Tang store in Central also offers a Shanghainese tailoring service for either Western or Mandarin style suits.
