Names

Chinese names are generally of three characters, with the family name being the first, followed by the given names. However, most Hong Kong Chinese are also referred to using the initials of their given name, and by adopted Western first names, which have become much more common in recent years. For instance, Cheung Che Kwan could be C K Cheung or John Cheung. Obscure names can be entertaining sometimes, such as the clerk who adopted the name “Nothing Wong.”
