Tipping in Hong Kong
Tipping is customary in Hong Kong, especially in restaurants and hotels. A 10 percent service charge is generally added to the bill in most restaurants, but even so you will still usually receive a grumpy look if you don't add about another 5 percent of the bill in tips. This is largely because the service charge you pay often goes to the establishment rather than the staff. Taxi drivers are not generally tipped, through rounding the fare up to the nearest dollar will be appreciated.
