Trams

hk tram

A picturesque and extremely inexpensive way to get around on Hong Kong Island is by tram. Trams run across the north of Hong Kong island west and east. Tram stops are frequent and you can simply hop on and off as you please. The flat fare is HK$2 (exact change required or use an Octopus card) and the service operates between 6am and 1am. Sit on the top deck for the best views. There are some special tourist versions with an open top that are usually chartered by tour groups. Trams can be hired for private parties. The Peak Tram is actually a funicular railway and has been running since 1888. It takes just eight minutes to reach the summit of Victoria Peak.
